IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest Volunteer Lists

The NCHS Music Department is hosting the IHSA Solo & Ensemble contest this year on Saturday, March 7.  Not only is this a fantastic musical experience for our students, but it is also the largest fundraiser our department collaborates on every other year.  Money from this event helps us purchase investments we share as a department such as uniforms, music stands, pianos, etc.  As we will be moving over 1000 students through our building that day, we need over 120 volunteers to help provide both this musical and financial opportunity for our music students.  There are many different jobs available for both students and parents alike, and we really need to get the lists filled up quickly.  Please click on the links below and donate just a few hours of your time to our students - they are truly a worthy investment!

Musical Page Updated

We are looking forward to our spring musical, Matilda!  Auditions will be held January 27-29 and the shows will be April 16-19. Audition information, forms, and everything you need to know are linked on our Musical Page. We hope to see many try out for the show! It's got great music and a great story!

Choir Holiday Concert Performance Information

Image result for holiday concertThe Iron Choirs Holiday Concert will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 7:00 pm in the NCHS Auditoirum. 

Required Dress Rehearsal:
Wednesday, Dec. 11, 3:30 - 5:00 pm. We are usually done before 5 pm, but will not go past this time.

Call times for students:
-Court Singers: 6:15 pm, stage
-Treble Choir & Men's Choir: 6:30 pm, Room 52
-Chamber Chorale: 6:40 pm, Choir Room
-Women's Chorale: 6:40 pm, Orchestra Room
-Chamber Singers: 6:40 pm, Green Room

Uniform:
All students wear tuxes / dresses / robes. Madrigals and Court Singers will NOT wear their costumes.

Spaghetti Supper Performance Info

Info for the annual U5 Music Parents Spaghetti Supper performance:

Date: Monday, November 11
Call Time: 7:30 pm, Room 52
Performance Time: 8:05 pm, Auditorium
Uniform: Jeans and your black choir shirt (can be t-shirt, crew, or hoodie - just as long as it's our black shirt with the block letter design). If you do not have a choir shirt, you need to wear a plain black shirt. Any kind of shoe is fine.

Spaghetti Dinner: In the Cafeteria from 5:00-7:30 pm.

Looking forward to a fun evening - our theme is Disney songs!  We will be performing favorites from Moana, Brave, Hercules, Tangled, The Little Mermaid, and High School Musical!

Spaghetti Supper Ticket Forms Due Friday!

Image result for spaghetti supperForms for Spaghetti Supper tickets are due this Friday, November 1!  Students should bring in this form and a check or cash (payable to U5 Music Parents) and they will be given tickets. Tickets are $8 for spaghetti, $13 for gluten-free.  Only 150 tickets will be sold at the door, and they will be $10. Don't forget!
